Reasons to
Visit the Garden:
- The garden is carefully colour
co-ordinated with one area
leading to another.
- Foliage colour and texture are just as
important as flowers
for effect.
- Great care has been taken to give
something of interest in
the garden all year round.
- The structure is strong giving good
backdrops to the plants.
- There are many varieties of old fashioned
and David Austin
shrub roses as well as spring, summer and autumn flowering clematis.
- Scent in the garden is important to the
owners.
- Plants for butterflies and birds are
encouraged.
If
you are planning a Tour of the area, Old
Buckhurst is well placed being very close to Chartwell (NT),
Emmets
(NT), Hever Castle, Chiddingstone - the National Trust owned
village, Groombridge
Place, Knole Park (NT) and Penshurst
Place.
It is
approximately 40 minutes away from Sissinghurst Castle Gardens.
